Who sees what
phrodia is pseudonymous rather than anonymous, and the two directions are deliberately different.
Raters see
Your photo. Nothing else — the rating feed shows no name, no profile and no link to your account.
You see about raters
First name, age, gender, city and country — the basis of the demographic breakdown and of any chat you start.
Never shown to anyone
Surname, email address, phone number, exact position, credit balance, date of birth.
You control
Which age groups and genders can see the photo, which region, and whether your own city is excluded entirely.
Common questions
Is phrodia anonymous?
It is pseudonymous, not fully anonymous. Raters never see who uploaded a photo — the rating feed shows the photo alone, with no name or profile attached. In the other direction you do see who rated you: first name, age, gender and city. That is what makes the demographic breakdown and the chat with raters work, so it is a feature rather than a leak. What is never shown either way: surname, email address, phone number, or your exact position.
What do other people see about me?
A reduced profile: first name, profile photo, bio, age and age group, gender, city, country, and a member status based on how many photos you have rated. Nothing else from your account is visible to other users — email address, birthday, exact location and credit balance are never exposed.
What is my location used for?
Targeting, not tracking. Your location is reduced to a coarse area before it is stored, which is enough to show your photo to people in a chosen region and not enough to place you. Raters see your city and country, never your coordinates. Location is optional — the app works without it, you simply lose location-based targeting.
Can I stop people near me from seeing my photo?
Yes. City exclusion removes your own city from the audience, so colleagues and neighbours are not shown the photo. You can also restrict the audience by country or region, or leave it global.
Why do the App Store privacy labels mention advertising?
The free version shows ads, and ad SDKs are declared in the store labels even when personalised advertising is switched off. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, personalised advertising and ad measurement stay off unless you consent, and analytics is off by default. You can change your choice at any time in the app.
Who can upload photos, and what is moderated?
You must be at least 18 to use phrodia. Uploads are moderated before they enter the rating feed, and any photo or user can be reported from the rating screen. Photos that break the community guidelines are removed.
Can I delete my photos and my account?
Yes. Individual photos can be deleted at any time from your profile, and deleting your account removes your public profile along with it. See the privacy policy for the full retention detail.
